Polyester
What is it? Polyester is a shortened name for a synthetic, man-made polymer. Polyester is made by mixing ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid. That may sound complicated and scientific, but basically, it is a kind of plastic. The material is made up of these man-made fibers. Polyester is a popular choice for many fashion brands and for athletic apparel.

- Resistant to shrinking, stretching, wrinkling, and abrasions
- Made with very strong fibers, yet lightweight
- Retains its shape well

Although it doesn’t wick away moisture as well as polyester does and wrinkles more easily, rayon offers breathability, drapes nicely, dries easily, and has a silky feel.
